Kim Jong-Il Russian Economic Aid

Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong Il, briefly visited one of Russia's largest hydroelectric power stations on Sunday, and then mounted an armored train to Siberia.

He is expected to meet with Russian president in Siberia later this week, urging Russia to provide financial assistance.

On the occasion of his visit, he intensified his efforts to seek help from the traditional donor countries in response to the annual floods and economic sanctions.

His last visit to Russia was in 2002.

According to news reports, he visited China twice last year and during the visit to China in May, he received a commitment to provide food aid and investment in China.

Moscow accepted Kim Jong-il's reasons.

Russia is eager to ensure its position in developing a port in North Korea and building gas pipeline projects from Russia to North Korea.

Russia claims that the natural gas pipeline plan is a way to push North Korea out of economic isolation and eliminate Kim Jong-il nuclear threat.

Washington and Pyongyang are currently negotiating a resumption of talks on ending North Korea's nuclear weapons development program.

However, around the natural gas pipeline

Progress is slow, and few expect to make any breakthroughs during the talks between Kim Jong-il and Russian President Medvedev (Dmitry Medvedev).

Lukyanov, editor of Russia in Global Affairs, said people must be careful not to have too much hope, because the North Korean government is a very unusual government. Indeed, Russia has a proposal to change the atmosphere of the region, but it is still in the hypothetical stage.

In the past, Kim Jong-il always used armored train as his preferred way to visit Russia.

Kim Jong-il is said to be afraid of flying.

During his last visit to Russia, Kim Jong-il stayed in the Far East for four days.

In 2001, he took a longer trip to Moscow on a special train for 24 days.

Moscow Kremlin had hoped that the visit would help Kim Jong-il not to show his identity to the international community and to show more in public.

Finally, it was revealed.

Weird behavior, because he spent most of his time in the armored train, protected by many bodyguards.

Since then, he rarely visited. He had been home for nearly two years in August 2008 after suffering from a stroke like illness.

Kim Jong-il is expected to stay in Russia for about a week. He will travel to Siberia with a special train to meet with Medvedev, and will spend most of his time on his own train.

The details of Moscow Kremlin's visit are minimal, but Russian state news channel Rossiya 24 reported that later this week Medvedev will meet with Kim Jong-il at Ulan-Ude, the capital of Buryatia.

It is located near the Lake Baikal (Lake Baikal) and is a Buddhist province.

Yonhap News Agency (Yonhap news agency) reported that after visiting the power station, Kim Jong-il left the Russian Far East Amur on a special train on Sunday. The train will go to Ulam Uhde, and Tuesday Kim Jong-il will meet Medvedev at an army base of Ulam Uhde.

Lukyanov pointed out that so far there are few opportunities to take pictures of Kim Jong-il, indicating that North Korean officials may not want to divulge Kim Jong-il's health.

PortAmur, a regional news agency, has released some photos and a rough, low quality video that appears to have been photographed without permission.

Photos and videos show that Kim Jong-il walked out of the special train and walked through the red carpet to greet Russian dignitaries.

He wore Khaki tunic and his sunglasses.

Russia's official news agency, RIA Novosti, reported that Kim Jong-il's special train has 17 carriages and four additional Russian cars after entering Russia, to be accompanied by an accompanying Russian President and Russian security and service personnel.
