Export Of Swiss Textile And Garment Industry

(EZV) released in July 2011, the foreign trade statistics report pointed out that even in the face of the continued appreciation of the Swiss franc, Switzerland's foreign trade continued to grow in July 2011, but grew steadily.

Nominal exports grew by 3.3% (+4.8% in real terms), the total amount being 16 billion 649 million Swiss francs, and the nominal price of exports.

Nominal imports fell by 1.6% (+1.9% in real terms), amounting to 13 billion 824 million Swiss francs, while the prices of imports fell by 2.6% (+1.0% in real terms).


The trade surplus was 2 billion 802 million 500 thousand Swiss francs (3.9% in nominal terms).

In its 10 largest export industries, only 3 industries continue to grow.

Negative growth

Exports to other regions are still growing, with Asia being the most growing region (+3.1%).


In July 2011, Switzerland exported 150 million Rui Lang (+0.4%) to Taiwan, with an import amount of 49 million Rui Lang (+4.4%) and a trade surplus of 10 million 200 thousand Rui Lang.


Switzerland exports most of its industries: watch industry (+21.2%), food and luxury goods (+2.2%), machinery and electronics (+1.3%).


The industries with negative growth in exports are: metal industry (-2.7%), chemical industry (-5.8%), textile industry (-8.7%), plastics synthesis industry (-9.8%), garment industry (-10.1%), precision instrument category (-10.6%), paper making and cartographic industry (-13.7%).
