Minister Anand Sharma said that the India government will soon allow foreign direct investment (FDI) to enter India's multi brand retail industry to reach a political consensus.

The minister told investors at the "2012 global India business conference" held in Antwerp, Belgium that due to the lack of consensus among the political parties, the implementation of FDI in the multi brand industry was postponed.
