Does your wardrobe contain many old clothes that are not for a long time and are washed away, but at the same time, they are filled with new clothes? If the old clothes are redesigned and made into new ones, is it joyful? Now that sustainable development has become the focus of attention in the fashion industry, fashion design can also be pformed into a strategy to solve environmental problems.

All along, Raffles College in Donghua has actively encouraged students to pay attention to and participate in the sustainable development of fashion design, and has been praised unanimously by the industry.

The Nordic design and creativity week (NDIW), CO sponsored by the Consulate General of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, was opened at the art gallery of K11 shopping center. With the help and establishment of the Raffles teachers and students in Donghua, this exhibition exhibited 16 New Nordic sustainable fashion works made by sustainable materials from the Nordic Fashion Designers Association (NFA), which is designed by Shanghai.

May Zhu, a lecturer in fashion design at Raffles College in Donghua, gave professional lectures to guests. From the perspective of sustainable development, we introduced design methods, reconstructing old clothes, using recycled raw materials, upgrading, and then creating unique costumes.

In 2012 and 2013, in the competition of "Yi cool regeneration fashion design", Raffles students came to the finals one after another and achieved excellent results. The college has constantly created more opportunities for students and encouraged them to take part in various competitions actively, while testing their academic achievements and improving their lives.

In order to enable students to better understand the concept of "environmental protection" and understand more about sustainable fashion, teachers of College fashion design collaborated with the Norway consulate, the Norway Fashion Association and the 2 fashion brands in Norway to invite them to give a lively regenerative fashion design lecture at Raffles College recently.

This regenerative fashion design lecture is divided into two parts. First of all, Gisle Mardial, manager of Norway Fashion Association, has explained to you the fashion development history of Norway in the past 10 years. Fashion as a global industry, the concept of "sustainable fashion" is coming out. In the past 10 years, it has gradually become a trend in Europe and America, and has been constantly practiced by designers. It can be regarded as a self redemption of fashion.

The casual material does not mean that the design is casual. The revival of old clothes is more tedious in the design of regenerative fashion.

Customers come from unique designs, which is the way of sustainable fashion development.

The second part is the MULE, the founder of Norway children's wear brand, which brings about the sustainable design and development of children's wear. After sorting out the old children's clothing, it sells it as a new green product, not only environmental protection, but also brings new feelings to people.

This campus propaganda enables Raffles students to understand the sustainability of fashion more deeply and thoroughly, not only to enable students to realize the form of fashion sustainability, but also to give students more design inspiration in the future creation.

Teachers at Raffles College hope to provide more opportunities for students to combine theory with practice, laying a solid foundation for future career start.
